9-4-2016 - McCormack's Big Whisky Grill
We all know by now that William "Mac" McCormack is the whiskey king of Richmond. What you may not know is the food is a formidable contender to the crown.
Tonight I had the "Double-Cut Duroc Pork Chop" and it was truly one of the best pork dishes I have ever had. I initially unsure about the fried apples; but I soon learned that they were a lovely counterpart to the juicy chops that were cooked absolutely perfectly. I tend to order my meat less than done such as to not dry it out, but as this wasn't an option here I was pleasantly excited to taste that they were juicy, as well as ever so slightly pink. The side dish was with some Hoppin John (which I had no idea what it was), but it was a bean based side and complimented by a side of Rice.
While I couldn't enjoy the whiskey this particular evening, I stepped away quite the happy restaurant-goer and decided this meal was a lovely introduction to my food blog
